Shepard Smith is a host at Fox News. For some reason, while airing a “tribute” to Robin Williams, Smith referred to Robin as “such a coward” for taking his own life.
Smith later “apologized” for his remark. That word is in quotes for a reason.
Here’s part of what he said to the website Mediaite:
“… if any of his family members and friends were to have seen me use the word ‘coward,’ I would be horrified. I would just to apologize to the end of the earth to anyone who might think that I meant to openly call him a coward.
“To the core of my being, I regret it. It just came out of my mouth. And I’m so sorry. And to anyone and their families who see that, I am sorry.”
You tell me: Is that an apology or a back-pedal?
Maybe they should take the “News” out of the equation and just call the network “Fox Views.”
