August 29th - Mini Brat Fest at Metcalfe's West Towne

When: Friday, August 29th, 7a-6p  Heather Moore will be there from 11a-1p
Where: Metcalfe's West Towne, 7455 Mineral Point Road
Details: Hearts for Healing Fundraiser Donation Hearts for “Slender Man” Victim Available at Metcalfe’s. In May, a 12-year-old girl was stabbed 19 times by two individuals and left in the woods in Waukesha. Remarkably, she survived. To help the young girl and her family with their mounting medical bills, purple donation hearts will be available at all checkouts thru August 29. For $1, $5 or $10, shoppers can show their support and leave words of encouragement. Hearts will be available at all three Metcalfe’s stores, leading up to a mini Brat Fest fundraising event on Friday, August 29 in the parking lot of Metcalfe’s West Towne.

September 1 - Schoepp Motors

When: Monday, September 1st (Labor Day)
Where: Schoepp Motors (Hwy 51 & Washington)
What: Join Mix 105.1’s Street Team and Riggs at Schoepp Motors for their Labor Day sale (Monday, September 1) from 3pm until 5pm for a chance to win great prizes!


September 13 - 4th Annual Family Caregiver Resource Fair

When: Saturday, September 13th, 2014
Where: Warner Park Community Recreation Center (1625 Northport Dr.)
What: You’re not alone! Learn about the many services, resources and educational opportunities available in Dane County for people caring for an older and/or disabled family member. Thirty different agencies and businesses will be represented with no cost, no pressure information about numerous services and care options. Interactive workshops will zero in on some of the more pressing issues that caregivers face. Workshops will be offered 3 times each over the course of three hours so that you can get in multiple topics.

Topics to be covered include:
1) Medicare/Medicaid/Insurance Marketplace: What do you need to know?
2) Make your home safe and accessible
3) Create a care plan
4) How to choose senior housing
5) Legal issues you need to know about

November 2 - Annual Wisconsin Dog Fair

when: Sunday, November 2nd
where: Alliant Energy Center (1881 W Expo Dr, Madison, WI 53713)
what: Obedience, Agility, Rally, Free style demonstrations; Parade of pure bred dogs; Parade of rescued dogs; Vendor booths; over 100 different breeds of pure bred dogs and much, much more!
