Demi Lovato Will Offer "Group Therapy" Sessions Before Her Concerts

January 24, 2018

Demi Lovato’s tour will include a very important opportunity for some of her fans. She is going to offer opportunities for free therapy to her fans at each stop on the tour.

Lovato’s concerts on the Tell Me You Love Me Tour will be preceded by inspirational speeches. The tour will also feature group therapy and wellness workshops. Lovato hopes to promote a dialogue about mental health.

The therapy sessions will be offered through a collaboration with CAST Centers. Lovato was a patient of the center in 2011, and she is now a co-owner of the Los Angeles center.

"It's basically like a therapy session before the concerts and we have speakers from all over and we're also helping out with different charities from around the country," Lovato revealed on Good Morning America earlier today.

This is actually not the first time that Demi has offered therapy to her fans. In 2016 she offered similar opportunities to her fans when she was on the Future Now tour with Nick Jonas.

"I think it's really important to take away the stigma of mental illness," Lovato told Good Morning America's Robin Roberts.  "I actually have bipolar disorder and I'm very open about that because I think that mental health affects so many people and we need to take the stigma away from it."

In September, Entercom radio stations aired the “I’m Listening” program on World Suicide Prevention Day to end the stigma of talking about mental health. You can listen to the entire two-hour broadcast (which featured artists from Halsey to Jack Antonoff to Khalid and more) by clicking here
