Lilly recently called in talking about her son’s prom. To help make her son more popular she’s making him have the most extravagant/expensive prom a teenager could have. Junior prom she bought him a hotel room, rent him a hotel room, and got him reservations to the most expensive prom night. This year she plans to treat his date to a complete day at the spa, rent the pent house hotel room, rent a limo with a hot tub, and hire a photographer to follow him around.
Slacker thinks it’s way over the top. He thinks that she is compensating for not having a big extravagant wedding. He thinks she’s almost insulting her son by buying his popularity for him. He thinks it’s wrong of her to throw the money away on a high school prom.
Steve thinks she’s a good mom. If she has money to make her son’s prom memorable why not do it for him. He doesn’t think it’s a big deal since she clearly has enough money to spend on him.
Do you think she’s going too over the top?
I think it’s wrong that she is buying her son’s popularity but if he doesn’t have a date yet I am available. (What girl wouldn’t want a free day at the spa?)
