OPP: Forced Parent Friendship

Yi!

Today’s OPP:

“Yi! My daughter made a new friend at school and now I’ve been forced into an awkward situation. She wants to spend time with her new friend constantly—on the playground after school, at the park on the weekends, have her over to the house, etc. The issue I’m having is my daughter and her friend are not old enough to do these things alone and I can’t stand this little girl’s mom. I feel horrible because this is my daughter’s first best friend and I don’t want to tell her she can’t see her, but I am about to lose my mind! What do I do guys? How do I get away from this woman without ruining my daughter’s friendship?
Shawna”

Slacker is “friends” with a few of his kid’s friends, but if their children weren’t friends he knows he and his wife would not be involved socially with these people because they have nothing in common besides children who are friends.

What advice do you have?

She’s an adult, right? She should use her words and think of different solution like a solo mommy date; take the pair out separately.

Stay classy!
